Privacy Policy
Effective 9 October 2026
Breeze is a free weather map. You don't need an account, and we don't sell your personal information. This page explains what data is involved when you use Breeze and the choices you have.
What stays on your device
- Preferences such as units, the hazard layers you turned on, and whether you dismissed the "install app" message are saved in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device.
- Offline copy. If your browser supports it, Breeze keeps a copy of the app and recent forecast images so it opens quickly. You can clear it any time in your browser's site settings.
Location and the places you look up
Breeze only uses your device location when you tap the locate button, and only to centre the map. When you tap a place or search for one, its coordinates or search text are sent to our server to get the forecast, place name and alerts. Our server passes them on to the data providers listed on the About page (Open-Meteo, OpenStreetMap Nominatim, the US National Weather Service). We don't store them or tie them to you.
Hosting logs
Breeze is hosted on Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel records technical information such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used to run the service and keep it secure, and is kept for a limited time.
Visitor statistics
Breeze uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views, referring sites, countries and device types. It sets no cookies and doesn't identify you or follow you across other websites; visits are aggregated anonymously.
Content loaded from other services
Map tiles (OpenFreeMap), satellite imagery (NASA GIBS) and map fonts load straight from those providers. As with any website, they receive your IP address and browser information when your device requests them.
Advertising and cookies
Breeze may show ads served by Google AdSense to keep the service free. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your previous visits to this website and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads to you based on your visits to Breeze and/or other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised ads at aboutads.info.
- If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, you'll be asked for consent before personalised ads or the related cookies are used. You can change your choice later through the privacy link in that message.
- Read how Google uses data in advertising.
Children
Breeze is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
